Procurement Manager

Position Summary:

• The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing the purchasing process within an organization, ensuring that goods and services are procured in a cost-effective, timely, and efficient manner. This role involves managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, monitoring inventory levels, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure that procurement activities align with business objectives.

Duties:

1. Supplier Management:

• Identify and establish relationships with reliable suppliers.
• Negotiate favorable terms and contracts with suppliers to ensure the best value for the organization.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are

met.

2. Procurement Strategy:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize the supply chain, reduce costs, and improve operational

efficiency.

• Analyze market trends and procurement data to forecast demand and ensure the availability of required goods and

services.

3. Budgeting & Cost Control:

• Prepare and manage the procurement budget.
• Ensure adherence to budgets and cost savings targets.
• Monitor spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost reduction or value-added sourcing.

4. Contract Negotiation & Management:

• Negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
• Ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
• Manage contract renewals, amendments, and performance reviews.

5. Inventory Management:

• Work closely with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Monitor and forecast inventory needs based on production schedules and demand.

6. Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

• Work with internal departments such as finance, operations, and production to understand procurement needs and provide solutions.
• Assist in the development of purchasing policies and procedures to streamline processes.

7. Risk Management & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks (e.g., supply chain disruptions, vendor non-compliance).

8. Reporting & Analytics:

• Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, vendor performance, and budget status for senior management.
• Use procurement software and tools to maintain accurate records and data.

9. Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure continuous improvement in procurement practices.

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

Degree in supply chain management or related field.

5 years + experience in procurement and 3 years + in a managerial role

Technical Skills and Attributes:

Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.
