CNC Turning Operator

Role & responsibilities

CNC Machine & Robot Setup

• Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Set up CNC machines/Robots, including tool selection, alignment, and fixture installation.
• Perform machine calibration and alignment to meet tight tolerances.

CNC Programming

• Load and run the program for CNC & Robots based on the scheduled operation plan.
• Read and modify CNC & Robot programs (G-code and M-code), as required, to optimize production processes.

Validate program accuracy through dry runs and simulations to ensure optimal machine performance.

Machine Operation

• Operates CNC machines/Robots for plunger manufacturing (e.g., drilling, turning, milling, welding).
• Weld parts running an automated/manual installation.
• Monitor and control machining operations to meet production goals and ensure smooth machine operations.

Adjust machine settings during operation to maintain product quality and meet precise tolerances.

Quality Assurance

• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments like micrometers, callipers etc.
• Apply corrections if necessary, after measuring the SETUP part and continue the job according to the procedure.
• Fill in the setup notebook with the correct dimensions after the first piece.
• Ensure compliance with product specifications and take immediate corrective actions for non-conformities.
• Reports the quality issues found and their causes and proposes how to remedy them.
• Clean the executed pieces at the end of the operation.
• Prepares the repair report according to internal procedures.
• Completes all forms daily regarding reporting of the activity carried out, electronically or on paper.
• Quality documents (QRS) or measurement sheets, according to internal procedures.

Taking responsibility for the job performed.

• Perform all the work following the quality requirements imposed by the working procedures.
• Checking job results, comparing the results of the work with the quality requirements, and if necessary taking remedial measures;
• Performs any other tasks on a professional line, which is distributed by the management, in compliance with the legal terms;
• Keeps the confidentiality of the job in and out of work.
• Immediately informs the supervisor if something is wrong in the production process for reasons beyond their competence (the program is not executed correctly, the machine is not working properly, etc) ;
• Inform the supervisor about the non-conformities detected;
• Inform colleagues from the next shift about the activity carried out during his shift and the problems encountered.
• Support training of new employees on quality procedures and standards

Preferred candidate profile

• Set up and calibrate CNC machines, tools, and fixtures to meet production requirements.
• Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications and troubleshoot machine issues as needed.
• Conduct regular maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize machine efficiency.
