Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a PEGA author you will be responsible for the development and implementation of applications using the PEGA platform (a popular Business Process Management (BPM) and Case Management software). This role is typically responsible for configuring, customizing, and optimizing PEGA application, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

Your primary responsibilities include:

1. Requirements Gathering and Analysis

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements
• Translate business needs into technical solutions by designing PEGA application workflows and processes
• Document functional and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives

2. Design and Development

• Maintain Net New/Backlog treatments Master spreadsheet
• Coordinate with channel managers to prioritize Net New Vs. Backlog treatments
• Build and configure case types, flow rules, decision rules, and other PEGA rules to meet business requirements
• Create User Interfaces (UI) using PEGA's dynamic layout, harness, and section rules for a smooth user experience
• Write custom functions and scripts when necessary (using Java or PEGA expressions) for complex requirements

3. Testing and Debugging

• Perform unit testing to ensure individual components are functioning as expected
• Troubleshoot and debug issues within the PEGA application, ensuring high-quality output
• Document and resolve defects and provide fixes based on testing feedback

4. Deployment and Release Management

• Deploy treatments and configurations to various environments (Development, QA, UAT, Production) using PEGA Deployment Manager or through manual export/import methods.
• Ensure smooth migration of application changes from one environment to the next (version control and release management)
• Monitor the deployment process to ensure proper functionality post-deployment

5. Client and Stakeholder Management

• Manage client expectations and provide technical updates and progress reports to business stakeholders
• Assist junior/senior in activities if needed, by providing technical solutions, estimations, and demonstrations of PEGA capabilities

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in PEGA development, with exposure to design, development, and implementation of PEGA applications
• Certification in PEGA
• SQL, Schema, MS Office, and Java knowledge for custom functions

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise

• Prior experience in PEGA-specific tools and components, such as Pega Decisioning, Pega CRM, Pega Case Management, and Pega Robotics
• Data engineering Skills
• Ability to think on feet, multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure
• Responsible, with a positive attitude and ability to work well with a team
