Platform Engineering Leader - I&T Data Platform

Responsibilities

The I&T Data Platform is designed for analytical workloads (OLAP), breaking down data silos and offering greater value for IT operational data. We strive to ensure data availability that drives analytics, AI development, and automation for CIO TPT.

We are looking for a Platform Engineering Leader to drive our strategy toward an IBM Cloud-centric approach. This role involves enabling operations and automating data within a unified integrated data platform, facilitating deployment through IBM-centric tech stack.

The Platform Leader is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core infrastructure that allows development teams to efficiently create and deploy solutions, overseeing the platform's scalability, reliability, security, and performance while leading a team of platform engineers.

-Develop a strong User Access Management system for the integrated platform for individual catalogs and data domains.

-Ensure the platform complies with and aligns with ITSS guidelines.

-Effectively manage all platform vulnerabilities within established guidelines.

-Create and enable an integrated data platform that supports AI, implements organizational standards, and ensures governance via automation and observability.

-Define platform standards, best practices, and governance guidelines for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and security.

A critical pillar of success for a robust platform is ensuring that standards are implemented, data governance is defined, and automation is incorporated. This enables a highly competitive observability platform. Platform services must be resilient, secure, and highly available 24/7 for our users and partners.

Essential Skills Required:

-Understanding of Watsonx.Data, preferably in cloud environments or on-premises.

-Strong understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and configuration management tools.

-Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

-Experience with monitoring and logging tools to maintain platform health and identify potential issues.

-Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address complex technical challenges.

-Experience transferring data and platforms from legacy databases to cloud-based solutions.

Nice to Have Skills:

-Knowledge and experience in software development in at least one modern programming language, such as Python or Java.

-Demonstrated experience in leading an enterprise system with automated deployment and familiarity with OpenPages or similar risk and compliance platforms.

-Database knowledge including SQL and PostgreSQL.
