Job Description: Head - Finance & Accounts
The Head - Finance and Accounts will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, managing financial risks, planning, record-keeping, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is critical in shaping and executing the financial strategy to achieve the company's objectives and drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
1. Strategic Financial Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making at the senior management level.
2. Accounting and Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
3. Audit and Compliance:
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and external audits.
- Address and resolve audit findings and implement recommendations effectively.
4. Taxation Management:
- Ensure timely filing of tax returns and compliance with tax laws.
- Handle assessments, appeals, and disputes related to taxation.
5. Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and implement cost control measures.
6. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Timely and accurate preparation of financial reports.
- Achievement of budget targets and financial forecasts.
- Compliance with statutory regulations and audit standards.
- Effective management of working capital and cash flows.
- Success in cost reduction and operational efficiency initiatives.
Education:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
- MBA in Finance or equivalent postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in finance and accounts, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and compliance.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Expertise in financial systems, ERP tools, and MS Office applications.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough understanding of financial regulations, taxation, and compliance standards.
