Bim Architect

The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Architect plays a vital role in designing, developing, and managing digital models throughout the architectural project lifecycle. This position involves creating detailed, data-rich 3D models and coordinating with project teams to ensure design accuracy, construction feasibility, and project efficiency. The BIM Architect also leverages BIM technologies to enhance collaboration, reduce errors, and optimize project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

BIM Model Development and Management

Develop, manage, and maintain 3D models across various project phases, from concept through to completion.

Ensure model accuracy, completeness, and compliance with BIM standards.

Create, review, and update model content to reflect design and construction changes.

Project Coordination and Collaboration

Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate design intent and technical requirements.

Conduct regular model reviews and resolve any discrepancies to ensure alignment across disciplines.

Communicate BIM standards and protocols to team members to support project coordination.

BIM Documentation and Detailing

Prepare and organize drawings, specifications, and schedules using BIM software.

Produce 2D/3D design documentation, plans, and detailed drawings for project approvals and construction.

Establish and manage model documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

Quality Control and Standards Compliance

Adhere to project-specific BIM execution plans, standards, and modeling protocols.

Conduct regular quality checks to identify potential design or modeling issues early in the process.

Work with the BIM Manager or Project Lead to implement best practices for consistency and efficiency.

Technology Implementation and Support

Stay current with BIM technologies, tools, and workflows, implementing them to improve project outcomes.

Support team members with software training, technical assistance, and troubleshooting when needed.

Optimize and automate workflows to increase productivity and model integrity.

Clash Detection and Conflict Resolution

Perform clash detection and resolve design conflicts within the model to prevent construction delays.

Use clash detection software to identify and address conflicts early in the design process.
