Safety Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Risk Assessment & Safety Audits: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards.
• Safety Inspections: Perform routine safety inspections to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
• Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, covering topics such as proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), emergency procedures, and accident prevention.
• Incident Reporting & Investigation: Oversee the reporting and investigation of workplace accidents or incidents. Document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Compliance Monitoring: Ensure the organization adheres to local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA regulations in the U.S.).
• Emergency Response Planning: Develop and update emergency response plans, ensuring all employees are trained on emergency protocols (fire drills, evacuation procedures, etc.).
• Safety Equipment Management: Ensure that all safety equipment is maintained, functional, and available when needed.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, accidents, and compliance activities. Report to management as required.

Qualification

Diploma/Degree in Engineering/Science with ADIS/PDIS Safety from RLI/CLI.
