The Opportunity:

As CEO, you will shape the strategic direction, champion digital transformation, and expand the mission of financial inclusion throughout Kerala and beyond. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead the overall strategic direction of the institution, ensuring financial stability, sustainable growth, and alignment with its mission. Develop and execute long-term plans that strengthen its position as a leader in cooperative banking.
- Digital Transformation: Spearhead digital transformation initiatives to modernize operations and enhance customer experience. Implement modern financial technologies (core banking upgrades, mobile banking, fintech partnerships) to improve efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Financial Inclusion Programs: Drive innovative financial inclusion programs to expand banking services to underserved communities across Kerala. Champion outreach in rural areas, introduce tailored products for low-income populations, and deepen the institution's impact on community development.
- Governance & Compliance: Oversee robust risk management, regulatory compliance, and governance practices. Ensure all operations meet RBI, NBFC, and cooperative banking regulations, and maintain the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, investors, board members, and community leaders. Represent the institution in industry forums and government interfaces, advocating for cooperative banking and members' interests.
- Product & Service Innovation: Develop and refine financial products and services tailored to rural and semi-urban customer needs (e.g. agricultural loans, micro-credit, deposit schemes). Encourage a culture of innovation to keep the institution's offerings competitive and relevant.
- Team & Culture Development: Foster a high-performance organizational culture aligned with the institution's values and mission. Provide inspirational leadership to staff, mentor senior management, and promote talent development and accountability at all levels.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in all functions. Drive process improvements and use of technology to optimize workflows while maintaining excellent member service. Continuously monitor financial performance, manage resources prudently, and secure sustainable profitability.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive Banking Experience: Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the Indian financial industry (banking/NBFC/cooperative sector), including senior executive roles. Prior exposure to cooperative banking or credit societies is highly desirable.
- Education: A postgraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field (or equivalent professional qualifications) is preferred.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Malayalam (spoken and written) is mandatory, along with excellent communication skills in English.
- Leadership & Vision: Demonstrated strong leadership skills with a proven track record of setting strategic vision and driving organizational growth. Ability to inspire and guide large teams towards common goals.
- Cooperative Banking Expertise: Deep understanding of cooperative credit structures, financial inclusion, and rural banking in India. Passion for community-focused banking and experience with products/services for the agrarian or unbanked segments.
- Digital Transformation Aptitude: Hands-on experience leading digital transformation or technology integration in a financial institution. Familiarity with core banking systems, digital channels, and fintech innovations to enhance customer experience and efficiency.
- Stakeholder & Compliance Management: Excellent stakeholder management abilities - capable of engaging regulators, auditors, investors, and community stakeholders with credibility and transparency. Strong knowledge of RBI and NBFC regulations and proven commitment to regulatory compliance and good governance.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial analysis and decision-making capabilities. Able to interpret financial statements, manage budgets, and make data-driven strategic decisions to ensure the institution's financial health.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cooperative Sector Leadership: Prior experience as a CEO, COO, or senior executive in a cooperative bank, credit society, or regional rural bank. Familiarity with member-driven financial models and multi-stakeholder governance.
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of regulations and statutes governing cooperative credit societies (Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act, RBI guidelines for cooperative institutions, etc.), with a record of flawless compliance in previous roles.
- Innovative Mindset: A track record of implementing technology-driven solutions (such as digital lending platforms, payment systems, or data analytics) that improved customer service or operational efficiency.
- Community Engagement: Exposure to working closely with local communities or cooperative members, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and commitment to the socio-economic development of rural populations.
