L1 Engineer - Forescout NAC Solutions (5-7 yrs)

Position Overview :

We are looking for an entry-level Forescout NAC L1 Engineer to join our team. As an L1 Forescout NAC Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance related to Forescout NAC solutions.

You will work closely with both customers and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, perform system configurations, and ensure the smooth operation of Forescout NAC deployments. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the field of network security, specifically focusing on network access control (NAC) solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Support & Troubleshooting :

- Provide technical support to customers and internal teams regarding Forescout NAC solutions, addressing any issues related to deployments.

- Troubleshoot and resolve common issues related to network connectivity, device profiling, policy enforcement, and authentication within the Forescout NAC platform.

System Configuration & Integration :

- Perform system configurations, including the creation and enforcement of policies, device onboarding, and integrating Forescout NAC with other network security tools.

- Assist in setting up and maintaining 802.1X authentication, RADIUS, MAC authentication, and other access control mechanisms.

Monitoring & Issue Resolution :

- Monitor and analyze system logs and events to proactively identify and address security and performance issues.

- Collaborate with senior engineers to perform root cause analysis and provide timely resolutions to technical issues.

Collaboration & Feedback :

- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, engineering, and product management to provide feedback on customer requirements, product enhancements, and improvements.

- Contribute to product improvement initiatives by reporting recurring issues, providing technical insights, and suggesting potential optimizations.

Customer Onboarding & Training :

- Assist with customer onboarding, including setting up initial configurations, guiding customers through the deployment process, and ensuring the smooth integration of Forescout NAC solutions.

- Support customer training activities by providing foundational training on NAC technologies, product usage, and best practices.

Industry Awareness & Continuous Learning :

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving network security challenges, particularly in the domain of network access control.

- Take part in internal learning sessions, webinars, and certifications to build expertise in network access control technologies.

Qualifications :

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Technical Knowledge :

- Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and routing.

- Familiarity with network access control concepts, principles, and technologies such as 802.1X, RADIUS, MAC authentication, and device profiling.

Experience :

- Experience with Forescout NAC or other similar network access control solutions is a plus, but not mandatory for entry-level positions.

- Previous experience in technical support, network operations, or IT security is beneficial.

Skills :

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.

Certifications :

- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or Forescout certifications are advantageous but not required.

- Willingness to pursue certifications and continuous professional development is expected.

Preferred Skills :

- Hands-on experience with Forescout NAC or similar network security solutions.

- Basic familiarity with firewall rules, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and other network security technologies.

- Understanding of security compliance frameworks and network security best practices
