Director - Aviation

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and implement aviation strategies aligned with company goals.
• Oversee fleet operations, route planning, and overall aviation performance.
• Lead, mentor, and manage aviation staff, including pilots, engineers, and ground personnel.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and service quality in all aviation operations.
• Monitor and optimize flight schedules, maintenance plans, and ground operations.
• Implement new technologies and best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure full compliance with aviation regulations (DGCA, IATA, etc.).
• Establish and maintain safety management systems (SMS) and risk assessment protocols.
• Liaise with aviation authorities and government agencies for licensing and compliance matters.
• Develop and manage aviation department budgets, cost control, and financial forecasting.
• Optimize fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and fleet utilization.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and leasing companies.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, airline partners, and corporate executives.
• Ensure excellent customer experience for corporate or VIP clients in business aviation.
• Handle crisis communication and emergency response management.
• Oversee aircraft acquisition, maintenance schedules, and fleet modernization initiatives.
• Ensure effective asset management to maximize aircraft lifespan and value.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates with Bachelors or Master degree in Aviation. More than 10 years of experience in flight operations, maintenance and liaison with DGCA.
