Job Summary:
The Data Center Operations Manager will oversee the operations and management of the
organization's data centers and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability,
and security of IT services. This role requires expertise in VMware, cloud platforms
(Microsoft Azure and AWS), and a strong understanding of disaster recovery, business
continuity planning, and cybersecurity compliance. The manager will lead a team of server
administrators, manage RIMS vendors, and ensure effective capacity management to meet
the organizations growing IT demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Center Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations of data centers, ensuring optimal
performance, availability, and reliability of IT infrastructure.
Manage server hardware, virtualization technologies (primarily VMware),
storage solutions, and network infrastructure to support business
operations.
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Administer and optimize cloud environments on Microsoft Azure and AWS,
ensuring efficient resource utilization and cost management.
Collaborate with cloud architects to design and implement cloud solutions
that align with business objectives and scalability requirements.
Vendor Management:
Manage relationships with RIMS vendors and other third-party service
providers, ensuring adherence to SLAs and performance metrics.
Evaluate vendor performance regularly and implement corrective actions
as needed to enhance service delivery.
Capacity Management:
Monitor and manage data center and cloud resource capacity to meet
current and future business demands, ensuring optimal resource
allocation. Develop capacity planning strategies and provide forecasts for future
resource requirements based on business growth.
Uptime Monitoring & Incident Management:
Implement and maintain monitoring tools to ensure uptime and
performance of data center and cloud environments.
Establish incident response protocols and lead troubleshooting efforts for
any outages or service disruptions.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity Planning:
Develop, implement, and test disaster recovery and business continuity
plans to ensure swift recovery of IT services in the event of an incident.
Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of DR and
BCP strategies.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of server administrators, providing mentorship,
training, and performance evaluations.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment,
encouraging professional growth and skill development within the team.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Ensure that data center operations comply with industry regulations and
internal security policies, focusing on data protection and cybersecurity
measures.
Implement and monitor security best practices, vulnerability assessments,
and incident response protocols to safeguard data and infrastructure.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data center and cloud
operations, including configurations, processes, and compliance reports.
Prepare and present regular reports on data center performance, resource
utilization, incidents, and compliance status to senior management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related
field.
8-12 years of experience in data center operations, cloud infrastructure
management, or IT operations, preferably within the NBFC or banking sector.
Strong expertise in VMware virtualization technologies and experience with
Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
Hands-on experience in capacity management, uptime monitoring, and incident
response in data center environments.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including
conducting drills and assessments.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance requirements relevant
to the banking and financial services industry.
Proven experience in managing teams and vendor relationships, with strong
leadership and interpersonal skills.
Certifications in cloud computing (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect,
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
