Network Security Engineer

Job Description

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing day-to-day operations of the customers LAN & WAN network infrastructure. Your role will involve configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining data center LANs and WAN interconnects, as well as managing DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, and network performance. You will also lead outage bridge calls, collaborate with multiple vendors, and contribute to network optimization and future upgrade strategies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operations of customer LAN and WAN network infrastructure.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Data Center (DC) LAN and DC interconnect WAN networks.
• Administer and maintain IP addressing schemes using Infoblox (IPAM).
• Oversee and manage DNS and DHCP services via Infoblox.
• Monitor and manage wireless network infrastructure.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network protocols.
• Provide recommendations for capacity planning, migration, optimization, and future upgrade strategies based on performance analysis.
• Perform on-demand IOS and NS-OS updates, as well as apply necessary hotfixes.
• Ensure the implementation of best practices and network hardening procedures.
• Monitor and manage log files of network devices for security and performance insights.
• Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
• Conduct regular audits of network devices and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive performance management and network optimization initiatives.
• Lead and resolve P1/P2 outage bridge calls to restore services promptly.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify and address network issues.
• Collaborate with multiple vendors to resolve network-related issues.
• Manage escalated incidents and high-priority tickets effectively.
• Plan, schedule, and manage change management activities.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date architecture diagrams and network documentation.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, or equivalent experience in related field.
• 5+ years professional experience in managing network infrastructure.
• Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructures, including Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and Infoblox systems.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, IP addressing, DNS/DHCP services, and network security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle global customers and lead critical outage resolutions.
• Experience in network monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
