Perform translation / transcreation / copy-edit / proof-reading (English to Hindi or vice-versa) in one or more translation tools
Work on various types of content involving different levels of creativity, e.g. marketing, creative articles etc.
Understand the project brief, target audience, and applicability of the text and translate / transcreate / copy-edit / proof-read accordingly
Master the standard CAT tools and tools associated with translation work for internal clients (e.g. tools for creating queries or checking the live UI elements)
Precisely follow the established process, e.g. always raise queries when there is a need to and flag the issue to relevant stakeholders
Precisely follow the style guide and overall client requirements
Improve based on the results of internal and external evaluation
Keep track of personal error statistics and work on the weak spots
Take part in the internal trainings and the ones organized by the client
Participate in the error arbitration process
Meet the productivity KPIs
Take part in the internal quality meetings and the quality calls organized by the client for the whole team
Constantly analyze own gaps and seek assistance from the management/language leads to help addressing them
Deliver feedback to junior linguists and train them
Evaluate quality of work of junior linguists
Requirements
University degree, preferably in Translation/Applied Languages
Fluency in English and Hindi
4 years experience in creative localization or creative Hindi writing (like blogging, video script/voice over writing, writing for web portals/magazines/news papers, copy writing etc.)
Ability to comprehend English to understand the meaning and use linguistic skills to translate / transcreate / copy-edit / proof-read as per client requirements
Taste for error-free and grammatically correct Hindi
Ability to identify and correct Hindi linguistic issues
Familiarity with CAT tools and other localization services will be valued
