Reports To: Lead Mechanical

Purpose:

The In-Charge Mechanical is responsible for overseeing and managing all mechanical engineering activities, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves supervising maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks, as well as leading a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.

Direct reports:

All the Maintenance Officer & Coordinator will directly report to the position.

Dimensions Of Position / KPI:

• Oversee the maintenance of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping (Both Static & Rotating Equipment)
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures and malfunctions.
• Coordinate and execute repairs to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operation of the plant.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.

Area Of Operation:

Collaborating with maintenance team to meet assigned target.

Key result areas:

General and Task Management:

• Co-ordinate with relevant departments for implementation of overhauling, preventive jobs.
• Improve OPE by TPM activity to reduce Break Down.
• Take active participation in vendor development and technical discussion.
• To inspect and approve all incoming materials related to department.
• Inventory Management in the section.
• To ensure drawing or related document update after any modification.
• Ensure NDT is being followed and necessary actions are taken.

People Management:

• Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability
• Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
• Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
• To motivate & encourage participative culture through TPM, Kaizen, QC, 5S activities.

Safety & Environment:

• Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
• Review environmental strategies that impact on future ways of operating and ensure implementation where possible
• Review the use of technological systems that support a more environmentally friendly approach

Qualifications:

• Full time B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute / University.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Extensive plant level experience with significant proven supervisory experience
• Technical understanding
• Understanding of TPM, OEM, Kaizen
• Understanding of ISO
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
• 4-6 yrs off experience in Automated Plants/ Production Units with experience in Instrumentation maintenance
