Estimation & Proposal Engineer

Job Summary
The Estimation & Proposal Engineer plays a key role in preparing cost estimates, proposals, and technical documents for automation projects. They work closely with the sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure the proper understanding and documentation of client requirements, which leads to competitive and accurate proposals. The position requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of automation systems, and an understanding of project costs and timelines.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Cost Estimation:
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for automation projects (including hardware, software, and third-party items including services) with high accuracy and confidentiality.
• Evaluate technical requirements and specifications, scope, designs, and timelines and create accurate costing.
• Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing for components, systems, and services required for the projects, optimization of the cost at possible best level.
• Coordinate with internal teams (sales, engineering, procurement) to collect necessary data and inputs for the proposal.
• Present and prepare solution to any queries or concerns regarding costs and technical details raised by client.

2. Continuous Improvement:

• Stay up to date with new technologies, tools, and industry trends related to automation, electrical systems, and control engineering.
• Continuously improve the proposal and estimation processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Learn from past projects to refine future estimates and proposals.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, mechatronics, or Instrumentation) or a related field.
  
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including control systems, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation.
• Accuracy in cost estimation and in-depth knowhow in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with both clients and internal teams.
• Analytical thinking with the ability to develop creative solutions to meet client requirements.
