About the Role :

We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Database Support Engineer L2 to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting our cloud-based database systems on AWS. You will work closely with development teams, architects, support teams and other stakeholders to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

- Manage and maintain AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redshift

- Monitor database performance and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reduce costs

- Troubleshoot complex database issues and perform root cause analysis

- Understanding, knowledge about database installation.

- Knowledge of Active- Passive, Active -Active database configuration.

- Knowledge of database restoration in the event to issue on database.

- Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies for all database systems

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of database systems

- Assist in capacity planning and scaling of database resources

- Implement and maintain database security measures in compliance with industry standards

- Automate database administration tasks using AWS tools and custom scripts

- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and application performance.

- Stay current with AWS database services and industry best practices

- Provide on-call support for critical database issues

Required Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field

- 5+ years of experience in database administration, with at least 3 years focused on AWS database services

- Strong knowledge of AWS database offerings (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift)

- Expertise in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases

- Proficiency in database performance tuning and query optimization

- Experience with database backup, recovery, and high availability solutions in AWS

- Familiarity with AWS security best practices and compliance requirements

- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation of database tasks

- Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications :

- AWS Certified Database Specialty certification

- Experience with additional AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation)

- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience with database migration to the cloud

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and big data technologies
