Job Title : Presales Consultant - Servers and Storage

Location : Muscat, Oman

Reporting to : GM IT

Industry Type : IT Services & Consulting

Employment Type : Full Time, Permanent

A diversified business group in Oman with 47 years of business & present in multiple countries spread across Middle East, Asia Pacific, European & African Region.

Eligibility Criteria :

- B.E (Computer Science) or B.Tech (Information Technology) or related field of education.

- Total job experience to be between 7 years to 12 years only out of which minimum 5 years in a presales, technical consulting, or systems engineering role with a focus on servers and storage.

- Strong understanding of server architecture, SAN/NAS storage systems, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).

- Knowledge of cloud storage solutions, data protection, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery planning.

- Familiarity with server operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris) and

- Strong experience in hardware from vendors like Cisco, HPE Aruba, Huawei, FortiNet, Trendmicro, HP Enterprise, Oracle, PureStorage, Nutanix, NetApp, etc.

- Backup solutions like Veritas, Commvault, etc.

Job Overview :

The Presales Consultant for Servers and Storage is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing technical expertise in servers, storage solutions, and related infrastructure. This role requires deep knowledge of hardware, virtualization, cloud solutions, and system architecture to deliver tailored recommendations and designs that meet customer needs and enhance business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Consulting and Solution Design

- Engage with clients to understand their business needs, technical requirements, and IT infrastructure.

- Design and architect servers and storage solutions that align with client objectives, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

- Provide technical presentations and demonstrations to explain complex infrastructure solutions in a customer-friendly manner.

Proposal Development and Support

- Collaborate with sales teams to prepare proposals, including solution design, technical specifications, and detailed cost analysis.

- Assist in developing Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and pilot programs to validate solution fit and performance for customers.

Product Knowledge and Expertise :

- Stay current with the latest in server and storage technologies, product offerings, and industry trends.

- Serve as the subject matter expert on all server and storage solutions, providing in-depth product training to sales and support teams.

Customer Relationship Management :

- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their evolving needs and providing ongoing technical guidance.

- Conduct site assessments and infrastructure evaluations to identify potential upgrades or changes that can improve efficiency and performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration :

- Work closely with product managers, service teams, and vendors to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and aligned with company capabilities.

- Collaborate with marketing teams to create technical content for presentations, product materials, and white papers.

Customer Engagement & Presentations :

- Engage with potential and existing customers to understand their business needs, technical requirements, and infrastructure challenges.

- Deliver tailored presentations, demonstrations, proof of concepts (POCs) showcasing the features and benefits of the company's infrastructure solutions.

- Act as a trusted advisor by answering technical questions, addressing concerns, and building long-term relationships with customers.

- Must do Kick-off project meeting with customer and technical team after closure of the deal for project initiation based on the approved design and though process behind solution

- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and support sales engagements

Technical Troubleshooting and Support :

- Assist in identifying and troubleshooting issues in customer environments during pre-implementation stages.

- Provide escalation support for technical challenges related to server and storage architecture.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

- Success rate of proposals and solutions leading to closed deals.

- Customer satisfaction and feedback on technical guidance provided.

- Number of successful PoCs and pilot projects.

- OEM Target achievements and upgrading partnership level

- Quality of solution design documentation and presentation materials.

Skills & attributes required :

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to translate complex technology into layman's terms.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and customer-oriented approach.

- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and handle multiple projects concurrently.

Preferred Certifications :

- CompTIA Server+ or Storage+

- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

- Certified Storage Engineer (e.g., SNIA certifications)

Salary Package :

OM PM all inclusive + Medical & Insurance for (self & family) + Visa assistance & support for (self & family) + Annual Passage (30 Days leave with leave salary along with economy flight tickets both side for self & family) + Gratuity

Note :

- The visa is on family status

- Family status means wife and 2 children below the age of 18 who will get Visa support, medical, insurance & Business class flight ticket from company.
