Job Description

Role Description:
To provide functional and operational leadership for the Middle YearsProgram, responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the program, asper the principles and practices defined by IB. Adhering to the pedagogicalbest practices to create excellent learning environments and focusing on knowledgesharing and professional development of teachers.
Be the first point of contact for InternationalBaccalaureate (IB) for the IB MYP segment.
  • Be accountable for the IBpedagogy being practiced in the IB MYP segment of the school
  • Continuous development andmaturity of the IB MYP practices at the school.

School continuing to enjoy the confidence of IB (MYP Authorization and Continued accreditation ).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead IB MYP Standards and Practices in School:
  • Update and bewell versed with the latest requirement of the IB Philosophy and pedagogy.
  • Understand theroles and responsibilities of an IB coordinator and be responsible foradherence to standards and practices.

Understands the authorization and evaluation process andrequirements and accordingly be responsible and / or delegate the collection ofevidence as a routine.

Curriculum Development and Implementation:
  • Collaborate with teachers and department heads to align theschools curriculum with the MYP framework.
  • Ensure the effective delivery of MYP units of inquiry andsubject-specific content.

Monitor and assess curriculum coverage, alignment, andeffectiveness.

Teacher Support and Development:
  • Ensure the PDrequirements for the segment are met by planning and facilitating sessions forteachers that enhance their in-depth understanding of the program
  • Provideprofessional development opportunities and support for MYP teachers.
  • Ensure theteachers are versed with the PYP and DP curriculum requirements.
  • Assistteachers in developing and implementing inquiry-based, student-centered teachingstrategies.

Offer guidance and resources for assessment and evaluationpractices.

Student Support:
  • Monitor andsupport student progress within the MYP.
  • Promote thedevelopment of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills among students.

Address student concerns and provide academic guidance asneeded.

Program Evaluation andEnhancement:
  • Conductregular assessments of the MYP programs effectiveness.
  • Collect andanalyze data to identify areas for improvement.

Lead initiatives to enhance the MYP curriculum and teachingmethods.

Communication andCollaboration:
  • Fostereffective communication and collaboration among MYP teachers, administrators,and parents.
  • Serve as aliaison between the school and the IB, ensuring compliance with IB standardsand practices.
  • Organize andlead MYP-related meetings, orientations, and workshops for all stakeholders.
  • Play an activerole in formulation and revision of all school policies.
  • Collaboratewith other coordinators and the school leadership team to ensure alignment withthe overall school mission and goals.

Collaborate with schools/ coordinators of other IB schools ,attend MYP related events/ workshops or meetings.

Assessment and Reporting:
  • Oversee thedevelopment and implementation of MYP assessment strategies.
  • Ensure theaccurate and timely reporting of student progress to parents and guardians.

Work with teachers to ensure fair and consistent gradingpractices.

Resource Management:
  • Ensureavailability of academic and program enhancement resources for both the teacherand student community.
  • Set a platformand procedure for regular and consistent resource sharing with students

Ensure IB/ MYP displays in the school.

Teaching:
  • Ensure teaching one tograde level, either individually or as a team.
  • Be a part of collaborativeplanning - horizontal and vertical planning sessions for the subject that thecoordinator is expert in

Plan units, engagementactivities and assessments in alignment to the school and



 



Requirements

Qualification :

- Graduation or higher degree from an accredited organisation

- B.Edor any other recognized teaching qualification
- Knowledgeof IB pedagogy, standards, and practices
- Preference forcandidates having completed IB MYP Certification/s

Experience : 5to 8 years of IB teaching experience withat least 4 years as IB MYP teacher and 3 years as IB MYP Coordinator.
