Job Description
- Curriculum Development and Implementation: Design and update computer science curricula in alignment with K-12 educational standards and school objectives. Integrate emerging technologies and trends, such as AI, coding, robotics, and cybersecurity, into the curriculum.
- Instructional Support: Provide guidance and support to teachers in delivering computer science lessons effectively. Develop engaging lesson plans, assessments, and projects tailored to various grade levels. Mentor students in computer science competitions, coding challenges, and technology fairs.
- Professional Development: Conduct training sessions and workshops for teachers to enhance their technical and pedagogical skills. Stay updated on the latest advancements in computer science education and share best practices.
- Resource Development: Create and curate instructional materials, including textbooks, online resources, and multimedia content. Collaborate with the IT department to ensure access to necessary tools, software, and hardware.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Design formative and summative assessments to measure students understanding and application of computer science concepts. Analyze assessment data to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback to students and teachers.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate with other subject matter experts to integrate technology into various disciplines. Promote computational thinking and problem-solving skills across the curriculum.
- Community Engagement: Organize events, such as coding boot camps, parent-teacher seminars, and community outreach programs. Build partnerships with industry professionals and organizations to enhance the school\u2019s computer science program.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in education or instructional design is a plus.
Experience:
- 5-8 years of teaching or curriculum development experience in computer science, preferably in a K-12 setting.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Familiarity with educational technologies, learning management systems, and coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Code.org).
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of computer science concepts and their practical applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and students.
