Position: Assistant Manager – Quantity Surveying
Location: Jaipur, Rajasthan
Industry: Construction/Religious Infrastructure Development

Experience: Minimum 8 years in quantity surveying and cost management for large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quantity Take-Offs and Estimation:
• Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
• Review and validate contractors’ BOQs (Bill of Quantities) to ensure alignment with project requirements.
2. Cost Management:
• Monitor project costs to ensure they align with the approved budget.
• Identify cost variances and provide recommendations to control project expenditure.
3. Tendering and Contracts:
• Assist in preparing tender documents, including scope of work, specifications, and BOQs.
• Evaluate bids and assist in contract negotiation to ensure cost-effectiveness.
4. Valuations and Payments:
• Review and certify contractors’ interim and final payment applications.
• Conduct regular site visits to validate quantities and progress for payment purposes.
5. Variation and Claims Management:
• Assess and evaluate variation claims submitted by contractors.
• Provide detailed justifications and assist in negotiation to resolve claims amicably.
6. Reporting and Documentation:
• Maintain detailed records of measurements, valuations, and cost reports.
• Prepare periodic cost and quantity reports for submission to project management.
7. Coordination and Communication:
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and project teams to resolve discrepancies in quantities and costs.
• Provide input during design changes to evaluate cost implications.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. Educational Background:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
• Professional certifications in quantity surveying or cost management will be an advantage.
2. Experience:
• Minimum 6 years of experience in quantity surveying and cost management for construction projects.
• Experience in religious or heritage projects will be preferred.
3. Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
• Strong analytical skills for accurate estimation and cost management.
• Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with construction contracts and legal frameworks.
