Job Description

Receive, inspect, and verify engineering materials and spares upon delivery, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards
Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or incorrect items to suppliers and internal stakeholders and follow up for timely resolution
Issue materials as requested by the engineering and maintenance teams in a timely and accurate manner
Maintain proper documentation for each receipt, issuance, etc. and record keeping
Conduct periodic physical inventory reviews to ensure accurate stock levels and reconcile discrepancies in stock records
Properly store and preserve materials to minimize wastes, maximize shelf life and enhance their lifecycle
Identify and address obsolete and slow-moving items to minimize inventory and release working capital.
Coordinate with user departments for matters relating to forklift and vehicle distribution and other various support services to ensure smooth operations
Provide necessary support in managing the movement of materials for planned shutdowns and projects, ensuring timely availability of materials
Assist in maintaining accurate master data for all materials, ensuring proper coding, categorization, and classification
Assist in preparing reports related to inventory, materials usage, and procurement activities for management review
Support the Stores Supervisor or Manager in optimizing space, layout, and storage procedures to improve efficiency and safety
Collaborate with the procurement team to help with order planning, material tracking, and stock replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock
Participate in training sessions and skill development to enhance knowledge of inventory management systems, material handling practices, and safety protocols
Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of storage facilities, complying with industry standards for material storage
Adhere full compliance with environmental and safety regulations for material handling and disposal
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and achieve targets.
