Sr Global Mobility Specialist
Background:
H&MV Engineering is a market leader in delivering mission critical facilities to both the transmission and distribution utilities and renewables sectors globally. We are experts in delivering engineering, procurement and construction projects from concept design and planning through to project execution. We work across the EMEA region and our head office is in Limerick, Ireland. H&MV is experiencing rapid growth and expansion, particularly within European markets. As we continue to expand our operations globally, we are seeking a Senior Global Mobility Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Global Mobility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth transition of employees across various international locations - including but not only Germany. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of employee relocation (less accommodation and travel), ensuring a seamless and positive experience for our employees and their families. Additionally, a reasonable level of knowledge in local tax regulations will be beneficial in ensuring compliance and optimizing tax-related processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage International Relocations: Coordinate and oversee the relocation process for employees moving between countries. (less accommodation and travel)
Provide Expert Guidance: Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for employees and internal stakeholders regarding global mobility policies, procedures, and best practices.
Ensure Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant immigration laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements in various countries, particularly Germany in the initial period. Ensure that all relocations adhere to legal and regulatory standards.
Partner with Stakeholders: Collaborate with HR, legal, finance, and other relevant departments to streamline processes and address any issues related to global mobility.
Mitigate Risks: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with international relocations and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Provide Tax Support: Ideally offer high level guidance and support to employees regarding tax implications associated with international assignments. Collaborate with tax advisors and internal teams as relevant.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the global mobility program, streamline processes, and improve the overall employee experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or related field. Masters degree or relevant certifications preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in global mobility, preferably within a multinational organization.
Strong knowledge of immigration laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements, particularly in Germany.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Fluency in English and [additional languages, especially German, is a plus].
