Leadership position:
We are hiring for a leader to Legal Services business unit. You will act as both a legal strategist and a key business partner to the executive team, supporting the company's growth through strategic sales initiatives and client-facing activities. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal operations, including but not limited to document review, cyber incident response, contract management, e-discovery, and more. You will ensure you run a growing, profitable legal business unit by directly contributing to sales and client acquisition.
Mandatory Skills:
- Deep understanding of legal services operations, process, transition/migration, and technology evolution
- Proven success in leading global teams and automating to drive service delivery improvement
- Track record of sustained success in growth-oriented, emerging companies
- Highly effective, clear verbal and written communications skills with groups and on an interpersonal level
- Decisiveness, with a sense of urgency, to ensure individual and collective performance and accountability
- Sensitivity to cultural differences across different geographies
- Motivational management style influencing a positive work culture aligned to our core values
- Experience managing responses to complex RFPs/RFIs to prospective clients, and an understanding of contracts and service level agreements with strong commercial acumen
Focus Areas:
Legal BU Leadership:
- Participate in developing strategy and direction for the business, working closely with the rest of the management team, clients, and industry leaders
- Innovate, propose and build compelling capabilities across all service lines to meet clients' current and future business needs and create additional revenue streams
- Personally, lead the culture of world-class service excellence throughout our associate base including active training, leadership development, and mentoring programs
- Being a critical member of the Leadership Team, lead, participate and collaborate to drive operational and commercial efficiency
Commercial:
- Lead the sales team to build your pipeline and close key accounts with a focus on contracted recurring revenue
- Assess client needs for new products/services
- Deliver operating performance, profitability, and productivity thereby meeting budgeted revenue and EBITDA goals
- Lead the ongoing development and rapid execution of services tailored for our clients
- Identify, evaluate and participate in forums and conferences in the US Legal industry to increase market awareness of company and establish new connections
Operations Management:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing legal team capable of supporting the company's rapid growth and evolving business needs.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, professional development, and continuous improvement within the legal department.
- Establish training programs and legal education for both the legal team and the wider business to ensure awareness of legal issues and compliance requirements.
Risk Management:
- Proactively identify potential risks in the legal services business and develop strategies to mitigate such risks.
- Ensure that the company has adequate risk management procedures in place, particularly in areas involving client confidentiality, and conflict resolution
- Monitor industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes to anticipate and address new risks.
