Job Description

Role Overview:

As a Business Development Manager - Sales, you will be responsible for driving acquisition and revenue growth, implementing strategies, and overseeing the sales and proposal/tender teams. Your primary focus will be fieldwork, driving lead generation, and closing orders, while also managing remote teams and reporting directly to the Directors. You will be tasked with setting short-term and long-term sales goals, ensuring smooth execution of projects, and fostering strong client relationships.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Generation:

  • Develop and implement new sales plans and advertising strategies.
  • Set both short-term and long-term goals for the sales team to meet acquisition and revenue targets.
  • Promote company products and services, including energy waste management, water services, merchant services, etc.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Secure bills and letters of authority (LOA) from customers.
  • Ensure all customer data is accurate and compliant.
  • Build and maintain a customer pipeline for ongoing business growth.

3. Strategic Planning with Management:

  • Collaborate with the management team to devise and execute business development strategies.
  • Obtain pricing information and present proposals to management for approval.

4. Reporting, Documentation, and Coordination:

  • Provide daily/weekly reports to the Sales Head, maintaining transparency and tracking progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of business development activities and client interactions.
  • Prepare regular business development reports for management review.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth project execution and service delivery.
  • Work with the accounts team to ensure timely payment collection and manage accounts receivable.

5. New Business Generation and Client Retention:

  • Actively evangelize the companys products and services.
  • Drive the closure of significant deals and identify potential tender opportunities.
  • Retain and grow existing business while seeking new opportunities.

6. Dealers Management:

  • Identify and establish relationships with new dealers.
  • Nurture and develop relationships with existing key dealers to expand business reach.

7. Training and Development:

  • Provide training to the sales team, including product knowledge, sales promotions, and interpersonal skills.
  • Foster team growth through consistent support and development initiatives.

8. Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, motivate, and support the sales team to achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of company initiatives and build strong internal relationships across departments.

9. MIS Reports and Sales Intelligence:

  • Monitor and ensure accurate distribution of sales reports and related intelligence.
  • Propose improvements to existing reports and assist in creating new tools to support the sales team.

10. Payment Collection and Accounts Receivable:

  • Coordinate with the accounts team to ensure payment collections are completed and accounts receivable are up to date.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree (B.B.A) or master’s degree (M.B.A) in Business Administration or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field.
  • Experience in the industry related to the company’s business (preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and sales abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
