Critical Care Consultant

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Anesthesia Specialist to join our medical team.

The specialist will be responsible for providing expert anesthesia care to patients undergoing critical care and neurosurgical procedures, with a focus on cardiac and neurological conditions.

The ideal candidate will have specialized training and expertise in critical care, cardiac anesthesia, and neuroanesthesia, with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform preoperative evaluations and assessments for patients scheduled for cardiac and neurosurgical procedures in CCU, CICU, and neurosurgery departments.
2. Develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans and perioperative management strategies tailored to patients' specific medical conditions, cardiac status, and neurological needs.
3. Administer anesthesia medications and monitor patients' vital signs, hemodynamic parameters, and neurological status throughout the perioperative period, adjusting anesthesia levels and medications as needed.
4. Coordinate with cardiac surgeons, neurosurgeons, intensivists, cardiologists, and neurologists to optimize patient outcomes and ensure seamless continuity of care.
5. Provide advanced airway management, hemodynamic support, and pain management techniques during cardiac and neurosurgical procedures, including acute coronary syndrome, cardiac arrest, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.
6. Utilize advanced monitoring technologies and equipment, such as transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), cerebral oximetry, and neurophysiological monitoring, to assess cardiac function and neurological status and optimize anesthesia delivery.
7. Anticipate and manage potential intraoperative complications, adverse events, and anesthesia-related emergencies, employing evidence-based practices and protocols to ensure patient safety and well-being.
8. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to review clinical outcomes, identify opportunities for process improvement, and enhance patient care delivery.
9. Provide education, training, and mentorship to anesthesia residents, fellows, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals on critical care, cardiac anesthesia, and neuroanesthesia principles, techniques, and best practices.
10. Stay abreast of the latest advancements, guidelines, and research in critical care medicine, cardiac anesthesia, neurosurgery, and perioperative management through continuing education, professional development, and scholarly activities.

Qualifications:

1. Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited medical school in India.
2. Postgraduate degree (MD/DNB) in Anesthesiology.
3. Fellowship training in Critical Care, Cardiac Anesthesia, and/or Neuroanesthesia preferred.
4. Minimum of 1-7 years of clinical experience in anesthesia, with specialized expertise in CCU, CICU, and neurosurgery.
5. Board certification or eligibility from the Medical Council of India (MCI).
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

8. Leadership qualities, including integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and research.
9. Registration with the State Medical Council and adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
