Position Overview:
We are seeking a Professor of Orthopedics who combines clinical expertise with academic brilliance. This role requires a leader who is highly experienced in orthopedic surgery, trauma management, joint replacements, and research, with a commitment to teaching and advancing the field of orthopedics. The ideal candidate will have a profound impact on both the academic and clinical aspects of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

Academic Leadership:

• Lead undergraduate and postgraduate orthopedic education through lectures, seminars, clinical tutorials, and hands-on surgical training.
• Ensure the integration of the latest orthopedic techniques and evidence-based practices into the curriculum.
• Guide and mentor residents, MD/MS candidates, and junior faculty in academic and clinical research.
• Develop innovative teaching methodologies and contribute to curriculum enhancement.

Clinical Excellence:

• Provide expert consultation and perform complex orthopedic procedures, including trauma surgeries, arthroscopy, spine surgeries, joint replacements, and reconstructive surgeries.
• Manage and supervise the orthopedic outpatient department (OPD), inpatient services, and surgical care, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.
• Lead multidisciplinary clinical rounds and case discussions, setting benchmarks for surgical outcomes and patient management.

Research and Innovation:

• Spearhead clinical research initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation in orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation techniques.
• Publish cutting-edge research papers in prestigious medical journals, and present findings at both national and international conferences.
• Promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration, advancing orthopedic care across multiple specialties.

Departmental Development:

• Drive the growth and strategic direction of the Orthopedics Department, with an emphasis on clinical excellence, research output, and academic prestige.
• Actively participate in faculty recruitment, departmental meetings, and strategic planning sessions, contributing to long-term goals.
• Ensure adherence to the National Medical Commission (NMC) standards and other regulatory requirements within the department.

Patient Care and Outreach:

• Lead and supervise patient care in the hospital, ensuring ethical, compassionate, and high-quality services across all orthopedic sub-specialties.
• Develop community outreach programs and initiatives that promote orthopedic awareness and preventive care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning with other departments, including radiology, trauma care, and rehabilitation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• MBBS, MD/MS in Orthopedics from an accredited institution, with recognized teaching experience as per NMC norms.
• Desirable: Fellowship in orthopedic sub-specialties such as arthroscopy, joint replacement, spine surgery, or trauma care.
• Extensive experience in orthopedic surgeries, including trauma, complex fractures, joint replacements, and minimally invasive procedures.
• Proven track record of research publications in high-impact journals.
• Ability to mentor, lead, and inspire junior faculty and medical students.
