Job brief

The GeM Catalogue is designed based on standardized templates of technical parameters (TP) that must be defined for each product category individually and form the basis of search and compare as well as bid creation and evaluation. Thus, extensive domain knowledge and understanding of the product category is pre - requisite to defining the right parameters i.e., TP creation

A broad overview of the nature of the role can be garnered from the broad outline of the primary responsibilities shared below:

Job Description

Core Activities:

• Responsible for managing the identification/creation/modification of the TPs (Technical Parameters) for assigned product categories.
• Ensuring that the product category is mapped to the right UNSPSC code/ HSN Codification etc.
• Responsible for time-to-time updating and maintenance of the TPs (Technical Parameters)
• Responsible for product market sanitization whenever required
• Wide knowledge about mandatory requirements for the products such as ISI Mark, BEE Star Rating, BIS CRS requirements

Allied Activities:

• Responsible for ensuring that the technical details are collected from buyers and sellers and address their requirements
• Ensure that national and international standards/Regulations/certifications applicable to the product are captured in the TP (Technical Parameters)
• Ensure that the TPs (Technical Parameters) are comprehensive enough to support the catalogue of all the different manufacturers
• Ensure that the TPs (Technical Parameters) meet the expectation of key internal and external stakeholders.
• Responsible for defining the Golden Parameters that are the mandatory price deciding parameters of the TP (Technical Parameters).
• Responsible for conducting the CCM for finalizing the technical particulars whenever required
• Responsible for preparation of power point presentations about task activities and performance of work allocation
• Any other responsibility as assigned by the competent authority from time to time

Skill Sets Required

• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and fast paced high growth environment
• Knowledge about BIS Standards, TEC std. and international standards shall be an added advantage.
• Understanding of the quality and testing standards applicable to the product category
• Strong technical and consumer understanding of product categories
• Strong Collaboration and negotiation skills to handle multiple stakeholders
• Capability to work in a fast-paced high growth environment
• Very well conversant with using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Professional Experience:

Manager - Minimum 6 Years

Senior Manager - Minimum 8 Years

i. Minimum 6 Years of total experience, with at least 1 year experience in e-Commerce/ Past Experience in preparation of technical parameters for products is preferred

Educational Qualifications

• Essential: Bachelors degree in Engineering or Technology from any of the following fields:
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• IT / Computer science Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Civil Engineering

GeM selection committee reserves the right to relax or extend the eligibility criteria and educational qualification.

In case numbers of applications received are very high, GeM reserves the right to shortlist candidates and invite only shortlisted candidates for interview round.
