Sr. Site Engineer

Title: Senior Site Engineer Structural (Steel & Concrete)

Experience Required: 8 - 10 Years

Key Responsibilities:

1. Site Supervision & Execution:

• Oversee on-site execution of structural works, focusing on steel structures and reinforced concrete.
• Ensure construction activities align with structural drawings, project specifications, and safety standards.
• Manage installation of steel frames, connections, and concrete foundations.
• Supervise formwork, reinforcement placement, concreting, and post-tensioning works.

2. Structural Integrity & Quality Control:

• Perform structural inspections to ensure compliance with design codes (e.g., ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes).
• Coordinate material testing (concrete strength, steel quality, etc.) and monitor load-bearing capacities.
• Identify design discrepancies and propose technical solutions in coordination with structural consultants.
• Enforce quality control measures, ensuring all works pass inspections and adhere to industry standards.

3. Planning & Coordination:

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for structural activities.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Monitor resource allocation (materials, labor, equipment) and manage site logistics.
• Coordinate crane operations, heavy lifting, and installation of structural steel components.

4. Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with HSE standards during structural work, especially during steel erection and concreting.
• Conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments for high-risk structural activities.
• Implement and monitor site safety plans, especially during heavy lifting and elevated work.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of structural steel and reinforced concrete design and construction
• Familiarity with international codes (ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocodes)
• Proficient in reading and interpreting structural drawings, shop drawings, and bar bending schedules
• Problem-solving skills for on-site structural challenges
• Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Masters Degree in Structural Engineering Preferred
• Professional Certifications (e.g., Chartered Engineer, PMP) – Advantageous

Preferred Software Skills:

• AutoCAD, Revit (for structural detailing)
• STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000 (for structural analysis)
• MS Project or Primavera (for scheduling)
