Position Overview:

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) Façade will oversee the design, execution, and management of façade systems across multiple high-value real estate projects. This role ensures the delivery of world-class, functional, and visually appealing building envelopes, meeting project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety protocols. They will work closely with senior leadership to drive strategic objectives, manage cross-functional teams, and implement innovative façade solutions, contributing to the company's success. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, advanced project management skills, and extensive experience in façade design and execution.

Key responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Lead and manage end-to-end façade activities, from design development through installation to final handover.
• Develop comprehensive project schedules and ensure timely and efficient delivery of façade packages.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders to align façade systems with project goals and requirements.

Design and Engineering:

• Approve and review design drawings, shop drawings, and technical specifications for façade systems, ensuring they meet project standards and client expectations.
• Lead value engineering efforts to optimize design, cost-efficiency, and performance.
• Oversee the integration of façade systems with other building elements, ensuring coordination with structural and MEP systems.

Vendor and Material Management:

• Oversee the sourcing and evaluation of façade materials, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and sustainability standards.
• Manage vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and compliance to deliver project requirements.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to façade design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Manage façade performance testing (thermal insulation, water-tightness, wind resistance) to ensure compliance with standards.
• Ensure that all façade works comply with local building codes, fire safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Budget and Cost Control:

• Oversee preparation of cost estimates and budgets for façade systems, ensuring efficient cost control and profitability.
• Track project expenditure and propose cost-saving measures to avoid budget overruns.

Innovation and Technology Integration:

• Lead the incorporation of innovative technologies in façade systems, such as smart façades, dynamic shading, and sustainable materials.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in façade engineering to maintain a competitive edge.

Team Collaboration and Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, designers, and contractors, ensuring cohesive and effective project execution.
• Foster collaboration between internal teams (e.g., design, procurement, and project management) and external stakeholders (e.g., contractors, suppliers) to resolve challenges and meet deadlines.

Who are we looking for?

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
• Advanced certifications in façade design, project management, or related fields will be a plus.

Experience:

• 18+ years of experience in façade engineering, design, or construction, with a proven track record of managing large-scale, high-profile projects.
• Extensive experience with façade materials such as ACP, unitized panels, glass, and tensile fabric systems.
• Familiarity with façade-related fire safety standards, green building practices, and performance testing methods.

Skills:

• Proficiency in design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, Revit).
• Strong project management skills, with expertise in MS Project, Excel, and other project tracking tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and regulations.
