About the role


As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a talented team of engineers and technicians, drive innovation in automation systems, oversee electrical systems and manage critical projects to enhance efficiency, reliability and compliance across operations.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and management:

- Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians and contract employees

- Set performance goals, provide mentorship and foster a collaborative work environment

- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies and industry regulations

2. Operational and maintenance management:

- Monitor and analyse system performance metrics, recommending improvements where needed

- Ensure minimal downtime by implementing preventive maintenance programs

- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability

3. Electrical systems oversight:

- Plan, design, and maintain electrical systems and equipment

- Perform system analysis to ensure reliability, efficiency and safety

- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in a timely and cost-effective manner

4. Automation systems development:

- Design, implement, and optimise automation systems for manufacturing, production and operational processes

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for automation, digitalisation and process improvements

- Evaluate and integrate advanced technologies, including automatic filling/packing and material handling, IoT, PLCs, SCADA and robotics

5. Project Management:

- Oversee the execution of mechanical, electrical and automation projects from conception to completion

- Develop project plans, budgets and schedules, ensuring timely delivery

- Manage vendor relationships and procure necessary equipment and materials

6. Compliance and documentation:

- Ensure all designs and operations comply with local and international electrical codes and standards

- Maintain accurate records, documentation and reports for projects and systems

- Conduct regular training sessions on safety and operational best practices

Who are we looking for?


Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 13 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role in the agrochemical industry
  • Proven experience in electrical systems, automation systems (automatic packaging, material transfer) and electrical & automation project management

Skills:

  • Proficiency in electrical systems, troubleshooting, and relevant industry standards
  • Knowledge of industrial automation technologies, control systems, and instrumentation (e.g., load cells, transmitters, flow meters)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and collaborate effectively
  • Knowledge of energy management systems and sustainability practices
  • Expertise in root cause analysis and ISO systems
  • Familiarity with production planning and operations
