Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Food Process Engineer with expertise in food safety, process engineering, and production optimization. The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in the food industry, focusing on optimizing food production processes, ensuring food safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency. This role involves applying advanced food science principles to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high-quality standards in food processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Food Safety Management:
    • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, industry standards (such as HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSAI), and internal safety protocols across production processes.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor food safety programs, ensuring that all food products meet regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections of production areas to identify and address food safety risks and improve hygiene practices.
  2. Process Engineering:
    • Lead process design and optimization initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of food production.
    • Apply food science principles to improve existing production processes, reduce energy consumption, and minimize waste.
    • Design and implement new food processing techniques or modify existing ones to ensure optimal production efficiency.
  3. Production Optimization:
    • Work closely with the production team to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement in the production process.
    • Analyze and optimize production workflows, machine utilization, and resource allocation to increase throughput while maintaining product quality.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (quality control, maintenance, and R&D) to streamline production operations.
  4. Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Oversee the implementation of quality control measures, ensuring consistent product quality throughout the production process.
    • Lead efforts to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues, focusing on product consistency, taste, and safety.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of quality tests, production parameters, and compliance reports.
  5. Research and Development Support:
    • Collaborate with the R&D department to assist in the development of new food products and the scaling up of prototypes to commercial production.
    • Provide technical support in the optimization of new formulations and ensure their successful integration into the production line.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in food science and processing technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  6. Team Leadership and Training:
    • Lead and mentor junior engineers and operators, providing training on food safety standards, process optimization, and best practices.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging the team to identify problems and propose solutions.
    • Ensure that all team members adhere to food safety regulations and production protocols.
  7. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze production data to monitor efficiency, food quality, and safety parameters.
    • Prepare reports on process improvements, production statistics, and any issues related to food safety and production optimization.
    • Present findings to senior management, providing recommendations for further optimization or improvements.

  • Food Safety: Expertise in food safety standards, regulations, and best practices (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSAI).
  • Process Engineering: Strong background in process design, optimization, and problem-solving within food production environments.
  • Production Optimization: Ability to streamline production workflows, increase efficiency, and reduce waste without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Proficiency in ensuring product quality through testing, inspection, and monitoring of production processes.
  • Data Analysis: Experience in data-driven decision-making to improve production performance and product quality.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to resolve production and quality issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with R&D, quality control, and maintenance teams to drive improvements.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, provide training, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in food processing, process engineering, or production optimization.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Familiarity with food processing technologies, machinery, and process optimization techniques.
  • Certification in Food Safety (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000) is a plus.
