Job Purpose
GSK is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Connectivity Service Management. This role will be responsible for leading the Network Operations team and managing the day-to-day operations of GSK s global network infrastructure. This role will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the company s network services, supporting business-critical operations and strategic initiatives.
- Lead and mentor the Network Operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for network operations, aligning with GSK s overall IT strategy and business objectives.
- Collaborate with other IT leaders, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure seamless integration and alignment of network services.
- Oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and support of GSK s global network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud, carrier, and security devices.
- Ensure high availability and performance of network services through proactive incident management.
- Implement and enforce network policies, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain robust network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular network security assessments, audits, and penetration tests.
- Manage network-related risks, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Vendor and Budget Management:
- Manage relationships with network service providers, hardware vendors, and other external partners.
- Develop and manage the network operations budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient use of resources.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance network performance, reliability, and security.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs.
- Senior Director EHS Operations: Daily accountability in ensuring that policies and procedures are executed to ensure appropriate SLAs are met regarding service restoration
- Senior Director Connectivity: Accountable to ensure alignment with cohesive strategy for Global Connectivity services
- Business Units: Regular cadence meetings to ensure that services provided are fit for purpose in optimizing availability
- Strategic Partners: Daily engagement with suppliers that provide network operational services to the business
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master s degree preferred.
- Total 18+ years of experience with minimum of 10 years of experience in network operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, protocols, and technologies, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and others.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
- Proven experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a solid understanding of its technological trends.
- Experience with Cloud Network, Datacentre Network, WAN Technologies, and Zero Trust Architecture.
- Passionate about enhancing the customer experience.
- Experienced in initiating and delivering large-scale operational programs.
- Proficient in agile delivery methodologies.
- Experienced in the DevOps operational model.
