Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our growing logistics company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business growth, building strong client relationships, and expanding market presence in the logistics and supply chain industry. You will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and leading strategic initiatives that contribute to the company's success.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Business Growth & Strategy Development:
    Develop and implement business development strategies to drive sales and expand market share in the logistics sector. Identify new opportunities, customer segments, and potential partnerships to increase revenue.

  • Lead Generation & Market Research:
    Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, competitor analysis, and customer needs. Generate new leads and convert prospects into long-term clients.

  • Client Relationship Management:
    Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders. Understand their logistics needs and offer tailored solutions to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Sales & Revenue Target Achievement:
    Manage and exceed sales targets by closing new business deals, managing sales cycles, and negotiating contracts. Drive the pipeline of opportunities from initial contact through to contract closure.

  • Proposal & Contract Management:
    Lead the preparation of proposals, bids, and presentations to secure new business. Negotiate and manage contracts with clients to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.

  • Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership:
    Work closely with operations, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and successful implementation of new business contracts.

  • Reporting & Performance Tracking:
    Monitor and report on sales performance, revenue growth, and client retention. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market performance and feedback.

  • Networking & Industry Representation:
    Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and strengthen business relationships.

Required Qualifications & Skills:


  • Experience:
    5 - 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles in the logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry.

  • Education:
    Bachelors degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.

  • Industry Knowledge:
    Deep understanding of logistics operations, transportation, freight forwarding, supply chain management, and market dynamics.

  • Sales & Negotiation Skills:
    Proven ability to sell complex logistics solutions, negotiate high-value contracts, and close deals in a competitive market.

  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking:
    Strong analytical skills to evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity. Ability to develop strategic plans to capture new business and achieve sales objectives.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and partners.

  • Tech-Savvy:
    Familiarity with CRM software, sales tools, and logistics management systems. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Results-Driven:
    Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong existing network of contacts in the logistics and supply chain industry.
  • Experience in managing large-scale accounts and global clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
