Job Summary:

GiftAbled Foundation is seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in Balrampur. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work directly with children to improve their physical, mental, and cognitive abilities through therapeutic interventions, aiming to promote their independence in daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate Children' physical, mental, and sensory abilities to identify areas of improvement and therapy needs.
• Develop customized treatment plans based on each individual's assessment, focusing on enhancing daily life skills.
• Provide one-on-one therapy sessions for individuals, using evidence-based interventions.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the best outcomes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and equipment that will assist with daily activities.
• Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, evaluations, and patient outcomes.
• Conduct group therapy sessions as needed to promote social skills and cognitive abilities.
• Stay updated on the latest therapeutic techniques, tools, and research to enhance the quality of care.
• Provide counseling to families, helping them understand and manage their loved ones' condition and therapy needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Occupational Therapy (B.O.T or M.O.T).
• Valid and active registration with the Indian Association of Occupational Therapists (IAOT) or similar certification body.
• Proven experience in a therapeutic setting, with a focus on disability management and rehabilitation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive equipment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple clients and tasks effectively.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience in pediatric therapy or working with children with disabilities.
• Training in specialized therapeutic techniques (e.g., sensory integration therapy, hand therapy, etc.).
• Familiarity with alternative and augmentative communication tools and practices.
