Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager, General Ledger (GL) Inventory and Fixed Assets/Lease Accounting (Record to Report)
The GL accountant is responsible for providing timely and accurate month end close financials, that are US GAAP compliant. The GL accountant will prepare journal entries, reconcile financial statements and accounts, and ensure data accuracy. This role is central to ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting. In addition, will process accounting postings, Fixed Assets Transactions on Asset Module, perform closing activities and validate overall closing within the area of responsibility. The accountant will also perform detailed review, reconciliations, analysis, and interpretation of defined processes in the assigned area of work, ensuring accuracy of data and adequate processing and reporting
Responsibilities· Work on the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing under US GAAP, following financial standards and procedures of IFF.
· Monitor the performance of key controls, maintaining thorough documentation to satisfy SOX compliance requirements.
· Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
· Prepare journal entries.
· Prepare insightful commentary for month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year fluctuation analysis for single-entity financial statements, including P&L statements, underlying cost centers, and/or key balance sheet metrics.
· Support tax, internal audit, and external audit requests as applicable.
· Support the HR team on matters specifically related to payroll accounting, including employee benefits, pension accounting, and related topics.
· Ensure that corporate, regional, and local accounting policies are strictly followed.
· Ad hoc internal reporting as required.
· To process accounting postings.
· To perform reconciliations
· To execute and engage on all internal control activities defined within the function.
· To participate on internal & external financial audits
· To drive and facilitate interactions with internal /external customers and third parties (legal entity controllers/ plant accountants).
· To participate in system projects in functional areas with limited guidance.
· To prepare and deliver quality financial reports as required by internal or external requirements on time.
· To perform detailed review, analysis, and interpretation of defined processes in the assigned area of work, ensuring accuracy of data and adequate processing and reporting.
· To perform closing activities
· To validate overall closing within the area of responsibility.
· Consultancy for SBU 's (cost vs. capital questions and in general any other permanent investment accounting query).
· Active participation in any permanent investment projects (Carve in/ Carve out processes, JV creation, mergers etc.).
Qualifications we seek in you!Minimum Qualifications / Skills· Accounting/Finance University degree.
· Minimum of years finance/accounting experience. (Experience on Fixed Assets accounting would be a plus)
· US GAAP.
· Business proficiency in English.
· PC skills: demonstrated ability to work with email programs and MS Excel.
· Skill Attributes: Attention to detail, Team worker, Ability to work under pressure, disciplined to follow and update procedures, Fast learner, Initiative/Innovation, Can-do attitude, Communication, Leadership within his/her processes and projects.
· Good command in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and providing top notch customer service.
· Excellent English language skills, verbal and written.
· Strong accounting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
· Previous experience working with SAP (any other ERP system will be a plus: Oracle, Navision...).
· Prior experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
· Lean/Six Sigma Certification is considered a plus.
