Production Manager - Plastic Moulding

Key Responsibilities:

• Plant Operations:
  
• Manage daily operations of the plastic moulding plant to ensure efficient production processes.
• Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of plastic moulding machinery.
• Ensure production schedules are met, maintaining high levels of productivity and efficiency.
• Team Management:
  
• Supervise production staff, including operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Provide training and guidance on operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment.
• Production Planning:
  
• Coordinate production schedules, material requirements, and workforce allocation to meet demand.
• Monitor production flow and address any bottlenecks or delays.
• Optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime.
• Quality Control:
  
• Ensure all products meet established quality standards and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement and monitor quality control processes.
• Address defects or inconsistencies in production and take corrective actions.
• Process Improvement:
  
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive process optimization.
• Equipment and Maintenance:
  
• Oversee regular maintenance of moulding machines, tools, and auxiliary equipment.
• Develop and enforce preventative maintenance schedules to avoid unplanned downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment repair, procurement, and upgrades.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
  
• Enforce workplace safety standards and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Conduct safety training and hazard assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
  
• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
• Work with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Manage waste disposal and recycling processes in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Reporting and Documentation:
  
• Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment performance, and operational expenses.
• Prepare regular reports on plant performance for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements for audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education:
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Diploma holders with extensive relevant experience will also be considered.
• Experience:
• 5+ years of experience in plastic moulding operations, with a focus on injection or blow moulding processes.
• Proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep understanding of plastic moulding technologies, materials (e.g., thermoplastics, resins), and mould design.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting machinery and optimizing process parameters.
• Familiarity with quality standards like ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or similar.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
