Job Description
- Design and develop mechanical components for power transformers including internal connections internal layouts and tank/external designs.
- Create detailed customer-specific drawings as per requirements and specifications.
- Work closely with the electrical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility quality and timely delivery.
- Ensure that designs adhere to internal standards such as ISO IEC IEEE and any applicable regulatory or industry-specific guidelines.
- Regularly review and update design procedures to comply with the latest standards and best practices.
- Use 3D CAD tools (primarily Inventor and Creo ) to create accurate and efficient mechanical designs ensuring that all components fit together correctly and function as intended.
- Develop and maintain CAD models drawings and documentation related to transformer designs.
- Work with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers project managers and quality assurance teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other teams and assist in resolving design-related issues during production or testing phases.
- Travel to customer sites when required to gather requirements conduct design reviews or provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with the global team on the execution of design projects and provide technical solutions on-site when necessary.
Required & Desired Qualification/Skills:
- Bachelordegree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven Min. 6 years of experience in designing mechanical components for power transformers with a focus on internal connections layouts and external tank designs.
- Experience in customer-specific drawing preparation ensuring alignment with their technical and regulatory requirements.
- Strong proficiency in using 3D CAD tools such as Inventor and Creo for design and modelling.
- In-depth understanding of ISO IEC IEEE standards and their application in transformer mechanical design.
- Knowledge of power transformer technologies and industry standards is essential.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in transformer design.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Additional language skills particularly German and Turkish are highly advantageous for effective communication with international teams and customers.
- Proficiency with Lean concept i.e. Kaizans 5S problem solving tools etc.
- Familiarity with international & national EHS norms
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally for customer site visits design reviews and technical support.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Experience in transformer design for high-voltage applications .
- Familiarity with transformer testing and validation processes.
- Knowledge of thermal analysis and structural analysis software for transformer components.
