Senior Project Manager - O & M (Highway Projects)

Role & responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement long-term and short-term Operations & Maintenance strategies for highway infrastructure. Ensuring cost effective operations while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Maintenance Planning: Plan preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for highway assets, including roads, bridges, tunnels and signage. Monitor and assess road conditions to prioritize repair work. Lead emergency response planning for incidents like accidents, natural disasters, and road damage.

Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor and manage a multidisciplinary team of Manager, Engineers and Administrative Staff. Establish clear goals and expectations for the team and promote a culture of safety, accountability and teamwork.

Budgeting & Cost Management: Develop and manage O & M budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources. Ensure cost controls and monitor expenditures to maintain financial discipline.

Contractor & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors involved in maintenance activities. Ensure that contractual obligations are met and the quality of work adheres to regulatory and internal standards.

Asset Management: Oversee asset condition assessments and ensure timely interventions for asset repair, replacement and rehabilitation. Ensure an up to date inventory of all highway related assets.

Compliance & Standards: Ensure all highway operations comply with local, regional and national regulations including health, safety and environmental requirements. Monitor compliance with technical standards and specifications for road maintenance and operations.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for government bodies, regulatory agencies, and the public regarding highway maintenance issues. Communicate with internal stakeholders and management on project updates, operational concerns, and improvement initiatives.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor the performance of O & M activities against KPIs and objectives. Report on progress, key issues, and improvement measures to senior management.

Experience & Qualification:

B.E. / B.Tech. [Civil] with 21 years of experience.

Diploma [Civil] with 24 years of experience
