Mould Design Engineer

A Molding and Die Engineer is a professional specializing in the design, development, and optimization of molds and dies used in manufacturing processes, particularly in plastics molding.

Key Responsibilities:
Mould Design & Development:

Design moulds and tooling for various manufacturing processes, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs using software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
Develop and optimize moulds for injection moulding, compression moulding, or other manufacturing techniques.
Prototype Testing & Evaluation:

Conduct mould testing and provide feedback for design improvements.
Oversee prototype development and ensure moulds are optimized for production efficiency and quality.
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:

Work closely with the product development team to understand product specifications and requirements.
Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure moulds are functional, cost-effective, and meet production requirements.
Material Selection & Analysis:

Select appropriate materials for mould construction based on product requirements and material properties.
Conduct analysis to ensure optimal mould design for durability, performance, and cost.
Mould Modification & Maintenance:

Recommend modifications to existing moulds to improve performance, reduce cycle times, or extend the life of the mould.
Ensure proper maintenance of moulds to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
