- Clinical HOD's, Administrative HOD's, Patient Experience/Welfare Officers, Functional HODs, Senior and Junior Doctors, Corporate Office, Management, External Vendors and Partners, Medical Bodies, Statutory Authorities, accreditation authorities, Licensing authorities.
Experience Range: 12 to 20 Years (Age Up to 45 Years is Preferred).
Compensation: Market Driven (Commensurate to skills, experience and expertise) - Not a Constraint for the deserving candidate.
Business Travel: As per the business requirements
Working Days: Six Days a week (Two Saturdays are off in a month) - Depends on the prevailing HR Policy on a time-to-time basis.
Job Description:
Head - IT/Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the entire gamut of the IT Department.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Level Responsibilities:
IT Strategy Development and Execution:
- Develop and implement a 3-5-year IT strategy aligned with the hospital's overall strategic goals.
- Oversee the planning, development, and implementation of IT initiatives to support the hospital's clinical, operational, and financial objectives.
- Ensure the effective utilization of IT resources to enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and reduce costs.
Technology Integration and Standardization:
- Lead the integration of IT systems across the hospital's various departments and units.
- Standardize technology platforms and processes to improve interoperability and data sharing.
- Develop and implement a shared-service model for IT services to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
Digital Transformation:
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance patient experience, improve clinical outcomes, and increase operational efficiency.
- Explore and implement innovative technologies to improve patient care delivery and streamline administrative processes.
Effective Budgeting and Planning:
- Develop and manage IT budgets, including capital expenditures (Capex) and operational expenditures (Opex).
- Ensure efficient allocation of IT resources to support strategic priorities.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to justify IT investments and optimize resource utilization.
Operational Level Responsibilities:
Technology Adoption and Implementation:
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and applications.
- Ensure the effective adoption and utilization of new technologies by hospital staff.
- Provide technical support and guidance to hospital staff on IT-related issues.
Data Management and Analytics:
- Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
- Ensure the security, integrity, and accessibility of patient data.
- Leverage data analytics to identify trends, improve decision-making, and enhance patient care.
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Manage the hospital's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of IT systems.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Team Building and People Management:
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals to achieve organizational goals.
- Recruit, develop, and retain talented IT staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Vendor Management and Partnerships:
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with IT vendors and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with vendor agreements and service level agreements.
- Establish strategic partnerships to leverage external expertise and resources.

Patient-Centric Technology:
- Implement technology solutions that enhance the patient experience, such as patient portals, mobile apps, and telehealth services.
- Ensure that IT systems support seamless communication and collaboration between healthcare providers and patients.
- Leverage technology to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
- Integration of Hosted Applications.
Assessment and Selection:
- Evaluate the suitability of hosted applications for the hospital's needs, considering factors such as cost, scalability, security, and integration capabilities.
- Select and implement hosted applications that align with the hospital's strategic objectives and IT architecture.
Integration and Management:
- Ensure seamless integration of hosted applications with existing IT systems and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement processes for managing hosted applications, including security, updates, and support.
- Cost Control and Digital Transformation.
Cost Optimization:
- Implement cost-saving measures, such as cloud computing, virtualization, and energy-efficient data centres.
- Continuously evaluate IT spending and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Leverage technology to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Digital Transformation Strategy:
- Develop a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with the hospital's long-term goals.
- Identify and prioritize digital initiatives that will improve patient care, enhance operational efficiency, and drive revenue growth.
Execution and Measurement:
- Oversee the implementation of digital transformation initiatives, ensuring successful execution and achieving desired outcomes.
- Establish metrics to measure the impact of digital.
- Transformation on patient experience, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency.
- The Management reserves the right to change the required Job Description, KRA and KPIs considering prevailing business requirements with proper communication to the incumbent.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Financial Perspective.
- Revenue Growth from IT Initiatives: Increase in revenue generated through IT-enabled services.
- IT Budget Adherence: Percentage of IT budget spent within allocated limits.
- Return on IT Investment (ROI): Quantifiable benefits of IT investments compared to costs.
- Cost per Patient: IT-related costs per patient treated.
Customer Perspective:
- Patient Satisfaction with IT Services: Percentage of patients satisfied with IT-related services (e.g., patient portals, telehealth, other technology tools etc).
- Time to Access Care: Average time for patients to schedule appointments or access medical records.
- Proper assessment and effective Implementation of Technologies: One time and within the defined budgets implementation of Technologies (EMR, HIMS, LIMS).
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Adoption Rate: Percentage of clinicians, Nurses, Technician and support staff using the EHR, or other technology tools as gets implemented (Periodically).
- Number of Patient Complaints Related to IT: Number of complaints received from patients regarding IT systems or services.
Internal Business Process Perspective:
- IT Service Uptime: Percentage of time IT systems and services are operational.
- Data Accuracy: Percentage of data in the EHR that is accurate and complete.
- Cybersecurity Incident Response Time: Average time to respond to and resolve cybersecurity incidents.
Learning and Growth Perspective:
- IT Staff Turnover Rate: Percentage of IT staff turnover.
- Employee Satisfaction: Employee satisfaction ratings with IT department.
- IT Staff Training and Development: Number of hours of IT staff training per year.
- Number of IT Certifications Obtained: Number of IT certifications obtained by staff.
- Innovation Rate: Number of new IT initiatives or technologies implemented per year.
Job Competencies:
- Postgraduate (Any) from reputed university and Institute however, qualification in the technology is preferred.
- Up to 15 Years of experience including hands-on experience into Technology (IT Infrastructure, application, Project Management & Information security along with other areas of technology and Digital Transformation.
- Business Acumen

- Excellent Communication Skills (Written & Verbal). Knowledge of Local Language shall be a plus.

- Ability to recruit /retain /engage IT and Other staff.
- Sound knowledge of Hospital, Healthcare Management.
