Senior Manager - Carbon Credit

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Carbon Credit Expert Operations Manager to lead and oversee the end-to-end operations of carbon credit projects, with a strong focus on working with international registries and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in setting up projects across international registries, collaborating with the product manager to leverage our proprietary platform "ForestTwin for carbon credit traceability compliance. The role requires a deep understanding of carbon credit project processes, international regulatory frameworks, and the ability to manage complex operations to maintain high-integrity carbon credit management.

Responsibilities:

Carbon Credit Project Setup and Management:

-Lead the design and implementation of carbon credit projects across international registries, adhering to established standards and guidelines.

-Collaborate closely with the product manager to integrate carbon credit management processes within the "ForestTwin " platform.

-Oversee project planning, development, monitoring, and reporting to ensure successful project execution.

International Registry Interaction:

-Liaise with international carbon credit registries to facilitate project registration, verification, and issuance processes.

-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international carbon credit standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.

Build and maintain strong relationships with registry representatives to ensure smooth communication and efficient project management.

Process Optimization and Compliance:

-Develop and refine operational processes to ensure compliance with global carbon credit standards and regulations.

-Implement best practices for carbon credit traceability, verification, and validation to maintain the highest level of integrity.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, technical experts, finance, legal, and external partners, to align strategies and achieve project goals.

-Provide technical expertise to support business development initiatives and strategic decision-making.

Reporting and Documentation:

-Prepare and submit accurate project documentation, reports, and verification materials to international registries and other relevant bodies.

-Ensure transparency and accountability in reporting processes.

Qualifications:

-Masters degree / PHD in environmental science, sustainability, business administration, or a related field;

-Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in carbon credit project management, with a focus on international registries and successful project execution.

-Comprehensive understanding of international carbon credit standards (e.g., VCS, Gold Standard, CDM) and associated regulations.

-Strong familiarity with carbon credit market trends, methodologies, and project finance.

-Proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.

-Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within complex operational contexts.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

-Proficiency in using carbon credit management platforms and tools.

-Certification(s) related to carbon credit project management (e.g., CSCP, CCRP) is a plus.

-Previous experience with forest carbon projects and REDD+ mechanisms is advantageous.
