Context and Job Purpose:
The Carbon Measurement & Reporting Manager, within the Business Operations Sustainability Climate Team, leads Unilever s global scope 3 carbon emissions reporting and plays a critical role in supporting our commitment to reaching -40% Industrial & Energy and -30% Forest, Land & Agriculture emissions in our Scope 3 value chain by 2030 and Net Zero emissions by 2039.
A Carbon Management Platform (Microsoft Sustainability Manager) was launched in 2023. It centralizes and automates the tracking and reporting of Unilever s carbon emissions across 13 different scope 3 GHG categories (following the GHG protocol standards). It automates the calculation of ingredient and packaging emissions and enables the use of supplier-specific carbon footprint data.
Every year, this system is being used to measure and report our annual (externally assured) GHG footprint in our annual reports, track and report progress towards our climate targets and ensure compliance with all climate reporting regulations globally.
This platform needs to be further developed into a world-leading carbon intelligence and carbon data management platform that accounts for the impact of all our climate programs, drive data-driven performance management of climate programs (incl. forecasting capabilities) and democratize access to GHG emissions data throughout the organization to inform and drive action.
This role will require roughly 15-20% international travel.
