The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing/development and detailing of the associated Mechanical and Pump engineering for Centrifugal Pumps design.
Responsibilities:
Design/development and detailing of the Mechanical engineering associated with the Centrifugal pumps for Oil and Gas Refinery, Slurry applications.
Should Have Knowledge of API 610, API 682 and Seal Support System Standards and Codes.
Design /development and detailing of the Pump Impeller and Volute casing.
Design /development and detailing of the Pump Hydraulic Performance curves.
Creation of GA, CS , PID and 3D models/assemblies, manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD
Create Order review documentation, Prepare preliminary plan for engineering deliverable in line with project requirements
provide end to end order engineering support, as an Individual Contributor on assigned projects
Prepare pump data sheet and BOM
Predicting the Hydraulic efficiency, Volumetric, Mechanical Efficiency and overall efficiency of the pump.
Design the pump to meet the Head and Discharge at the required RPM and meet the Efficiency and the NPSHR of the Pump to be designed.
Should have knowledge of Cavitation in Pumps.
Review of technical specifications, analyze nonstandard requirements and propose solutions
Perform basic engineering calculations as required
Closely coordinate with other functions such as project management/supply chain and engineering teams for efficient execution of the projects.
Maintain Project Documents and important communications/decisions in structured format
Solve issues identified during pump assembly
Prioritize tasks and efficiently monitor and close the critical tasks
Maintain Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
Provocativeness in resolving queries raised by vendors & customer on submitted documents i.e. RFQs, Drawings, data sheets, procedures etc.
Contribute to develop Engineering standards, process improvements, Cost reduction initiatives,
Improve Quality of engineering deliverable (right the first time) and on time delivery
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
2 To 4 years of experience in API 610 Centrifugal pump engineering.
Knowledge of Pumps, Electric Motor, Mechanical Seal, Seal System, Coupling , Valve , JB etc
Strong CAD skills (in Part modelling, Drafting and Assembly) in Autodesk Inventor & AutoCAD should be able to work independently CFD Tools would be an added advantage.
Experienced in issuing BOM, RFQ, drawings, engineering documentations
Ability to review technical specifications, engineering standards and produce associated design documentation
Thorough knowledge of industry specifications such as API 610 / API 682 / ASTM codes etc and able to interpret and apply as required.
knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine design, fluid mechanics, metallurgy etc
Good spoken and written English skills, ability to make concise communication with clients
Strong interpersonal skills for communicating thoughts and ideas.
Team working ability and an attitude of collaboration, mentoring and flexibility.
Ability to prioritize the tasks, and ownership of assigned projects
Education and Experience
BE in Mechanical Engineering in regular full-time course from recognized institute and university.
2 To 4 years of core engineering of centrifugal pumps for oil and gas domain experience.
Working Knowledge of 3D/2D design software s (AutoCAD,Autodesk Inventor) any other engineering software / applications would be an added advantage eg. CFD Tools
