Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy Development:
- Collaborate with the Editor to develop and implement a comprehensive editorial strategy aligned with the publications goals.
- Create and maintain a long-term content calendar that outlines themes, topics, and key dates for both monthly and annual publications.
2. Monthly and Yearly Planning:
- Conduct regular planning sessions to assess upcoming trends, events, and reader interests to inform content direction.
- Coordinate with various departments (marketing, design, etc.) to align content strategies across platforms.
3. Editorial Calendar Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and timely updates of the editorial calendar, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of deadlines and responsibilities.
- Track progress on content creation and publication timelines, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate shifts in priorities.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster strong relationships with writers, contributors, and internal teams to encourage collaboration and idea sharing.
- Lead brainstorming sessions to generate fresh ideas and diverse content that resonates with the target audience.
5. Audience Analysis:
- Analyze audience engagement metrics and feedback to guide content planning and improve reader experience.
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitor publications to ensure content remains innovative and relevant.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all planned content meets editorial standards and aligns with the publication’s voice and mission.
- Review and edit content as necessary to maintain high-quality standards.
7. Reporting and Evaluation:
- Prepare regular reports on content performance, engagement metrics, and audience feedback to present to the Editor.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of content strategies and propose adjustments based on insights gathered.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in editorial roles, with a focus on content planning and strategy.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in content management systems and editorial software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
