Senior Test Data Engineer

As our Senior Test Data Engineer, you'll be a key driver of our test data strategy. You'll design, develop, and maintain our test data infrastructure. You need to be a highly proficient data engineer with a proven ability to design and implement complex data pipelines within a regulated financial environment. You should be comfortable working with large datasets and have a deep understanding of data warehousing principles, data governance, and compliance regulations. You should be a proactive problem-solver who enjoys tackling challenging technical problems, and you understand the unique security and compliance requirements of the financial services industry.

Must Have Skills

• Extensive hands-on experience in data engineering, including ETL processes, data modeling (both relational and NoSQL), and database administration within the financial services industry.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other scripting languages is essential. Experience with any of the cloud platforms, preferably GCP is a must, as is experience with BigQuery, PostgreSQL.
• A strong understanding of data security and privacy best practices is crucial.
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable and maintainable data solutions.
• Understand the challenges of handling large datasets and can design solutions that can meet future growth demands while adhering to strict performance and availability requirements.
• Analyzing existing data solutions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management and compliance officers
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering within the financial services industry (automotive finance preferred), with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience with BigQuery, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Azure data services.
• Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain complex data pipelines in a regulated environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of relevant data privacy and security regulations (e. g. , GDPR, CCPA).

• Experience with data visualization tools

• Design, develop, and maintain our test data infrastructure, working with complex and diverse datasets, often sensitive in nature due to the financial regulatory landscape.
• Build proof-of-concept (POC) data models, ensuring scalability and enterprise sustainability from the outset, with a keen eye on regulatory compliance.
• Refactoring existing test data solutions to improve performance, efficiency, and maintainability, while adhering to industry best practices and security standards.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other engineers to deliver high-quality test data products that support critical business functions.
• Contribute to the overall data architecture and strategy of the company, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and business objectives.
