Junior Industrial Designer (In-House Design Studio)

• We are looking forward to adding an Industrial Designer to join our Design team based in Pune, India.
• This exciting role will be a part of the team responsible for the overall industrial design of the entire range of products of Forbes Marshall. This will include necessary hands-on execution in core phases of the Industrial Design process from need finding, concept development, sketching, 3D concept modeling, digital rendering, and definition of Color/Material/Finishes.

Role

• This position will work closely with Lead designer and Engineering design team to develop the products in an organized and expedient fashion. As Industrial -Designer you will be responsible for delivering high quality product aesthetics, graphics and presentations pushing design to the next level.
• The designer will be involved in every phase of design from need finding through concepts and till production to deliver world-class design solutions.
• Develop and present concepts through sketching, 3D modeling and rapid prototyping through a strong demonstration of design thinking.
• Design and render using Rhinoceros, parametric solid/surface modeling, Key shot and other 3D packages, with proven visualization abilities using Adobe Creative Suite and CorelDRAW
• Be a part of team to determine CCRs (Critical Customer Requirements) and then translate into tangible, desirable product

Qualifications -

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Industrial Design from an accredited institution or equivalent.
• Experience of around 2-3 years Industrial/product design experience in a consultancy or corporation.

Key skills -

• Conceptualization (sketching)
• 3D explorations, 3D modeling
• High quality renders (key shot)
• Graphic packages Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or CorelDRAW (added advantage),
• Rapid Prototyping,
• Basic understanding of manufacturing process and materials
• Excellent design Presentation skills. Ability to clearly communicate your vision and ideas verbally and visually.

Added Advantage -

• CMF Design (Color, Material & Finish),
• Graphical Visualization,
• Sketchbook Pro is a plus.
• Mechanically inclined (optional), with understanding of engineering principles,
• Well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal skills.

• Has the persistence and resourcefulness to overcome project obstacles and drive to resolution
• Can tactfully and effectively address concerns or conflicts openly within the team and with customers
