BGM (Books & General merchandise) is a Business unit which holds super categories which are already billion dollars sized individually in the market. This BU will help Flipkart increase focus on critical customer segments like metro customers & women shoppers
We are looking for people like us who will build a category together from scratch and scale and enroute gather fun filled learning experience
What this job entails:
- Own all external & internal Brand marketing for BGM. Launch, develop & execute sustained marketing campaigns. Ensure enabling ample discovery points for each category rigorously
Strategy and planning
- Know the customer: Deeply understand customer behaviour, develop new customer insights
- Know the market and trend forecasts: Stay on top of trends in an ever-changing landscape, find opportunities and prioritize based on selection, gaps, size, internal capabilities, etc. Optimise for monthly content and trend planning.
- Influence the leadership: Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional leadership and drive the changes required
Association and Leadership
- Map out the shopper journey and identify the right mix of partnerships & associations to elevate the consumer experience
- Ensure that Flipkart as a media channel is developed & used across any campaign that these brands might run regionally/nationally or globally (if relevant)
- Own key marketing channels & metrics for BGM
- Front end all marketing requirements with marketing, merchandising and PR partner teams for increasing awareness of BGM products
- Driving GTM strategies for new product launches. Ability to drive adoption & scale up businesses via marketing
- Working with in-house/ external designers to produce materials of visual impact and within brand guidelines
- Define and co-own the customer acquisition and category growth roadmap for BGM categories
Scale Platform Experience
- Build content pipeline with partners for imagery, shoots and feeds. Own cost improvement and overall content portfolio management.
- Scale and build strategic content marketing partnerships in the ecosystem.
- Manage in store promotions along with brands - make brands partners in customer communication
- Make Flipkart - a destination by habit- for the customers through the best online shopping experience to discover largest and trendy assortment of products.
- Own experience for category specific events and campaigns - innovate and execute high engagement topical events

Qualifications and experience:
- MBA/ Marketing graduate with 3-6 years of experience
- Experience in Brand Management, Advertising, Consumer marketing, Channel and Category management, Business P&L will be preferred
- Experience in a retail/online/FMCG/ Creative agencies is a must
- Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion
- Very strong bias to action
- Over indexed on analytical side of business
- Planning comprehensive roadmaps to achieve shared goals.
- Strong communication and influencing skills from Tier 1/2 B-School is preferred
