About the Role :
We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled Fraud Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will leverage advanced data analysis techniques and visualization tools to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud across our systems. You will work with large datasets, utilize SQL, Hive, and data visualization platforms (such as Tableau or Power BI) to uncover fraud patterns, and provide actionable insights to key stakeholders. Familiarity with Python and Spark for advanced analytics will be a strong asset in this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Fraud Detection and Prevention : Analyze transaction data, user behavior, and system logs to identify fraudulent activities and potential risks.
- Data Analysis : Use Hive and SQL to query and analyze large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accuracy in your findings.
- Data Visualization : Create intuitive and actionable dashboards and reports using Tableau or Power BI to communicate fraud trends, anomalies, and insights to business stakeholders.
- Reporting and Insights : Develop regular fraud reports and provide insights into emerging trends, helping the team to take proactive actions.
- Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, IT, and business analysts, to ensure that fraud detection processes are optimized and aligned with business goals.
- Advanced Analytics (Good to Have) : Leverage Python for scripting, automating tasks, and applying statistical and machine learning models to enhance fraud detection. Use Spark for processing large-scale data in real-time.
- Continuous Improvement : Stay up to date with emerging fraud trends and detection technologies to continuously improve fraud prevention strategies.
Key Skills & Qualifications :
- Hive : Proficiency in querying data and building data pipelines for fraud analysis.
- SQL : Strong command of SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from relational databases.
- Data Visualization : Hands-on experience with Tableau and/or Power BI for creating dashboards, visualizations, and interactive reports.
- Python (Good to Have) : Experience with Python for automating data tasks, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
- Spark (Good to Have) : Familiarity with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and real-time analysis.
- Attention to Detail : Strong ability to identify anomalies, patterns, and trends in data.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Communication : Ability to present complex data findings in a clear and actionable way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in data analysis, fraud detection, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a fraud analysis or fraud prevention role is a plus.
