Job Title : Fraud Analyst
Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fraud Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and analyzing potential fraudulent activities, as well as investigating, monitoring, and reporting on fraud patterns using advanced analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI, and Python, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights to help mitigate fraud risks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct in-depth analysis of transactional data to identify potential fraud patterns and suspicious activities.
- Utilize advanced SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets for fraud detection purposes.
- Design and develop data visualizations and dashboards using Tableau or Power BI to provide real-time insights into fraud metrics and trends.
- Use Python to automate data analysis, create fraud detection models, and improve existing fraud prevention processes.
- Investigate and respond to alerts of suspicious activities, escalating cases as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including risk management and operations, to refine fraud detection strategies and ensure ongoing prevention.
- Develop reports and presentations for senior management and other stakeholders to communicate findings, risks, and recommended actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging fraud trends and new fraud detection technologies to continuously improve detection methodologies.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Fraud Analyst or in a similar analytical role, preferably within financial services or e-commerce.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries to analyze large datasets.
- Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Tableau or Power BI, to create compelling visual insights.
- Advanced knowledge of Python, with the ability to apply it to data analysis and automation of fraud detection processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify anomalies in complex datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with machine learning or statistical modeling techniques for fraud detection.
- Knowledge of financial crime prevention practices and regulations.
- Familiarity with fraud detection software or tools is a plus.
