Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned AWS Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of Mendix Private Cloud deployments on AWS for our Hyperlocal solution. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a passion for designing and implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions for large-scale implementations, particularly for US-based clients.

Requirements

1. Cloud Architecture Design and Implementation.

Design and implement scalable and secure cloud architectures using AWS services.

Leverage Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS) for containerized workloads and ensure

seamless orchestration.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ensuring automation

and compliance with best practices.

2. DevOps Engineering and CI/CD

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Bamboo to

streamline application deployment.

Ensure high availability and performance optimization across Dev/Test/Prod

environments.

3. Security and Compliance

Conduct security assessments of cloud and container environments, implementing best

practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Automate security checks and enhance overall security posture across infrastructure.

4. Monitoring and Performance Management

Design and implement centralized logging and monitoring solutions (Datadog, ELK

stack, AWS CloudWatch) for performance tracking.

Create dashboards and alerts to monitor application and infrastructure health.

5. Collaboration and Mentorship

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored

solutions.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on cloud and DevOps best

practices.

6. Cost Optimization and Automation

Analyze cloud resource usage and implement cost optimization strategies without

compromising performance or reliability.

Automate backup, disaster recovery processes, and infrastructure provisioning.

Technical Expertise:

Advanced proficiency in AWS cloud services (VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, Route 53, RDS,

etc.).

Deep experience with Kubernetes, including EKS, GKE, and AKS.

Proficiency in Terraform for IaC and tools like Helm, Crossplane, and Kustomize for

orchestration.

DevOps Tools:

Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, Puppet, Ansible, and Docker.

Strong knowledge of container orchestration and microservices architecture.

Operating Systems & Virtualization:

Expertise in Linux (RHEL, AIX) and VMware vSphere.

Experience with storage solutions like PURE, EMC, NetApp, and Nimble.

Certifications (Preferred):

AWS Certified Solutions Architect

Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

HashiCorp T erraform Associate

ITIL Foundation Certification

Experience:

Minimum 15 years of experience, including leadership roles in cloud architecture,

DevOps, and infrastructure management.

Proven track record in large-scale cloud migration and containerization projects.
